Welcome to Summer Reading at Salmon Bay!
Below you will find information on accessing our interactive summer reading page on Seesaw. |

If you would like to join the Salmon Bay Summer Reading program, please email Teacher Ben (i,e. me!) at [email protected]
Please tell me 1) the student's name, 2) what email address you would like associated with the account.
I will send an email to that address with a code and instructions for logging in the first time.
You can use any email address you like, but you might want to use your child's school email address. All elementary students now have an email account (even kindergarteners!). The format is [username]@seattleschools.org. Username can be found by logging into The Source. So, if my username is 1bbking, my email address would be [email protected]. Default passwords for accessing email are the student's birthday in mmdd format (e.g. February 7 would mean a password of 0207). For more information about accessing and using student email, click here.
Finally, go the Seesaw app (click the image above). You will enter the email address, create a new password for Seesaw, and enter the code I sent to the email address you gave me.
And you're in! Whew! You have just completed the most difficult part of using Seesaw. Once inside the app, the interface is very intuitive.
Every time the student uses the app, they will have to sign in again, so I recommend keeping the email address and password written down in a safe place.
It is unfortunate that the login process is so complicated for young kids. Seesaw offers a few options for how students log in, but this way is the only way that supports students who share devices with others at home and allows students to interact with each other's posts.
